Midnight release? [Nov. 11th, 2010|05:12 pm]
The Wise Eagles

Has anyone here been to a midnight showing of one of the movies before? If so, what time did you get there to get in line? (I've never been to one, so I'm very unsure as to whether I should get there at, say, 10, or 4, or what, how early is too early or not early enough.)

As in to get a ticket or to get in? To get a ticket, order online or go asap if you can. I was able to get tickets first thing the morning of when I went to OotP, but it was like the LAST last of the tickets. If you mean just to get in, you probably don't need to get there all that early. They only let people into the theater so early. As long as you don't need seating for 12 or something, you should be ok!

This is assuming you're going to a "small" theater. If you're in a major city, maybe these thoughts go right out the window, lol. I've never been in like NYC or anything.

I love midnight viewings and I've been to several.

Depending on the movie, the cinema and the size of your town, I would suggest buying your ticket asap. They are usually sold out by the morning of the viewing day but that is just my experience.

I would also advise buying munchies beforehand (from a shop instead of the cinema candybar) and just taking them with you to avoid any massive queues. Arrive early to ensure you get in and get a decent seat, and if you have to worry about a car park, arrive earlier.

Define "early," though. (And I already have the tickets, so yay for that.)

Well, I like to leave home two hours early. For me, I have a half hour to drive and then parking issues. I buy my ticket and munchies beforehand, and then just wait it out in the cinema.

I usually like to be there a half hour - hour before the movie starts just to factor in random things happening.

Yay for getting tickets! I'm so excited for you. :)
